About the Collierville Twentieth Century Club
Our History
The Collierville Twentieth Century Club, a 501(c)(4) organization, was formed January 25, 1950, as a group for Collierville women who wish to volunteer for the betterment of the Town of Collierville. We meet monthly to share fellowship and learn about Collierville through programs presented by the four departments (Arts, Education, Environment, and Community Life).
The club encourages the scholarship and civic participation of students in the Collierville public schools by providing a scholarship, a cash award, Good Citizenship awards, and prizes for art submitted to the poster contest.
The club raises funds and promotes the Town of Collierville through its annual arts and crafts fair, the Fair on the Square. The Fair is the club’s only fundraiser. In 2025, the Club awarded over $18,000 in grants, scholarships, and donations.
The annual Collierville Fair on the Square is held the first weekend in May in the Collierville, Tennessee, Town Square. Admission and parking are free to visitors. First held in 1976, the fair is a family festival sponsored by the Collierville Twentieth Century Club. The charming town square, named Parade Magazine’s Best Main Street in America, is the backdrop for approximately 170 vendors who set up their tents in the park to sell hand-made items that are appropriate as gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduation, or simply for the buyer. Hungry fair visitors can find foods ranging from corn dogs to nachos, pizza, barbeque, or crepes as well as other traditional fair foods. Many visitors sit down to eat and watch the continuous entertainment at the Collierville train depot provided by children from local schools, singers from local churches, area bands, solo singers, and dancers. The Fair welcomes children who can get their faces painted, ride a train, and play games.

“The Collierville Twentieth Century Club, an organization of interested, enthusiastic ladies in Collierville marks the beginning of its 26th year of service with the largest undertaking in the history of the club. This is the sponsorship of the Bicentennial Crafts Fair in Collierville on Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2.”

The first fair featured craftspeople and merchants like it does today, but also sold $1 tickets to for drawings of prizes donated by Collierville businesses including Wonder Products, Master Sporting Goods, and Old Colony Restaurant. Proceeds from the ticket sales went to purchase a curtain for the theatre stage at Collierville High School.
